As any hootowl could have predicted, Mobile Orchestra has been a hit - and even major websites and journals are taking notice of Adam's new sound.
Rave reviews have been flying in from all sides over the new record - including THIS one from Hit The Floor. Although it's not a 10/10, the review still speaks to all the best aspects of Adam's new groove, while still politely highlighting the album's not-so-strong parts.
Likewise, USA Today featured Mobile Orchestra in THIS "Album Of The Week" feature. Once again, the writers at USA Today are very nice in showcasing the record's high points as well as documenting what could be called the low points.
The truth is that the album isn't considered a major five-star record by the huge companies... And maybe it's better that way. Though Adam has been getting more radio play in the last few years (and still today with "Fireflies"), there's no denying that he's still our kid in the basement - just, you know, now a considerably bigger basement. He's moving up through the ranks of pop music - while still staying ours. And that, to me, is the best kind of success.
Sing on, hootowls!
