Hello, everyone.

Greetings, lovelies.
Remember me?

Yes, it is I, the humble creator of this humble blog. It is Aidan.

This is quite an unplanned visit that I'm making, and quite honestly your current administrator of this blog (who is doing a FANTASTIC job, by the way) doesn't yet know that I'm stopping by. But to be honest, I didn't know I'd be stopping by myself until moments ago.

I'll be honest. Life has been CRAZY since I left this humble blog to Imogen what seems like ages ago - I've been pretty much non-stop since then. Since that day, my relationship with my girlfriend has grown stronger, I am very close to becoming a senior in high school, and in order to try and cope with the piles of homework, projects, etc. that keep coming up, I have (of course) taken to music. I have, admittedly, expanded my music taste quite a bit since last year to include the heavier side of the spectrum (along the lines of "If The Trees Had Eyes...").

However, along this journey called life, I have noticed one important thing.
Your first loves never really leave you.
And Owl City, for me, was one of those first loves.

Throughout my years of growing and expanding in this world, Adam's music has never really stopped being the soundtrack to it. My Spotify playlists often include Mr. Young's work, both new and old. And as I type this post for you now, Saltwater Room plays softly in the background, as it often does in my journey. Owl City never really left me, nor did I ever leave it. And I doubt that it ever will.

I stop by the blog quite often to check up on it. I like to think of it as a dad calling his son who is away at college - independent, yes, on to bigger and better things... But still grounded, in even the smallest of ways.

I hope to hear from all of you very soon.

Thank you for everything.

  3. Great to hear from you again, Aidan! This was a great surprise!
Imogen and I were actually having a conversation about OC staying with us just a few days ago, and this post reminded me of that.
Hope to hear from you again soon!

  4. Hello! I wasn't here when you were in charge of this blog, but I hope you're doing well. As much as I've moved on to Relient K, I have to agree with you on Owl City.
And Aquarium! Ahhhhhh....Adam's best project, in my opinion...apart from Owl City, of course!

  5. Why hello Aidan! Good to hear from you again, and I'm glad you're doing well!
Funny thing, I have also been expanding my musical taste (I've been listening to a lot of alternative rock lately), but I've also been listening to the Midsummer Station a lot every now and then. I think we never really completely stop listening to certain artists; we simply drift away from them for a while, only to return to them later.
Again, good to hear from you, and I'm glad to see you're still checking up on the blog!

  6. I'm pretty late so you might not read this;
I am relatively new to the blog and you can call me Cello. In terms of Adam's music staying with you I can completely agree. Perhaps you would like Tom Rosenthal on youtube? He does kind of calming .
